Mission
The California Association of Immigration Consultants exists to serve U.S. immigrants.
The California Association of Immigration Consultants is a comprehensive service organization made up of businesses dedicated to educating, assisting, and supporting the immigrant community.
Its founding focuses on a single issue: helping immigrants receive the assistance they require to function effectively as United States residents. The CAIC recognizes that these individuals are vulnerable to unscrupulous individuals, have limited access to professional services, and are usually poor.
As such, CAIC members are committed to providing highly ethical, well-informed, and low-priced assistance to immigrants within their communities.
Educating Our Own:
The CAIC recognizes that navigating the United States immigration system is challenging for the most astute and well-meaning individual. Understanding I.N.S.' paperwork requirements involves extensive knowledge, as well as a keen awareness of the ramifications of ill-informed advice.
As such, we are committed to keeping our members up-to-date on the intricacies of immigration paperwork and to fully informing them on pending changes.
We feel it is critical that all immigration consultants serve immigrants from an educated, informed platform.
Policing Our Own:
In addition, our industry, unfortunately, includes individuals who prey on immigrants' ignorance and fear.
CAIC commits to policing its own and will work as an oversight body, addressing unscrupulous practices and extricating nefarious consulting companies.
Access Is Everything:
The United States immigrant community, by and large, live in urban neighborhoods with limited access to traditional legal and professional services. As a group, they enter the U.S. with little or no money.
The CAIC, and its members, recognize that the best way to serve these individuals is within their own communities. CAIC member companies establish businesses near immigrant's homes, along mass transit routes, and within walking distance of other needed services.
In addition, immigration consultants perform a multitude of services from simple, yet critical tasks such as address changes to more complex adjustment applications. Understanding that these immigrants have little money, immigration consultants strive to keep fees low.
The CAIC feels that without immigration consultants, the average immigrant would have no where to turn for basic immigration assistance offered at a low and reasonable cost thus giving the unscrupulous open season to prey on ill-informed immigrants--an unacceptable option in a country as great and fair as the United States.
